🌍 Mülheim an der Mosel and Lieser are located in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate in the Middle Moselle region, about 35 to 40 kilometers northeast of Trier. Geographically, the Moselle River forms the border between two low mountain ranges here: Mülheim lies on the side belonging to the Hunsrück, while Lieser is on the opposite side at the foot of the vineyards, beyond which the hinterland begins.

🚲 The Moselle Cycle Path near Mülheim an der Mosel is one of the flattest and most relaxing sections of the entire route. Because the town lies in a wide valley, you have plenty of space and excellent views of both sides of the river.

It's really worth coming here for a great photo opportunity.

Most Beautiful Vineyard View in the Bernkastel-Wittlich District Of the five proposals in the Mosel wine-growing region, the application from Lieser (Bernkastel-Wittlich District) received the most votes, making it the "Most Beautiful Vineyard View 2020" on the Mosel. The location at the Hambuchhütte near Lieser will be marked with a stele provided by the German Wine and Wine Association (DWI). "The 'Most Beautiful Vineyard View' award is given to vantage points that offer impressive views of Germany's wine-growing landscapes and are also easily accessible by hikers or bikers." The 400-year-old half-timbered houses, the Renaissance Town Hall (1608), the St. Michael's Fountain (1606), and the much-admired, charming "Pointed House" (1416) reflect the living poetry of the Middle Ages. The filigree work of the fountain grille, the ornaments and colorful beam drawings in the half-timbering of the houses, and the ornate weather vanes on the roof gables still bear eloquent witness to the town's former prosperity and history.
