"On a hill above the town, the people of Dedenbach have built a handsome barbecue hut. Because of the fantastic view, they gave it the descriptive name "Schauinsland". Just a few meters from the hut, an old basalt cross stands, somewhat hidden in the bushes. Like the many other stone crosses in the area, this "plague cross" is a reminder of the terrible conditions in the 17th century.
