The branch church of St. Catherine in Müsch was built in 1787 and is a protected cultural monument. In 1972, the old chapel was expanded. The old chapel structure became the chancel, and an octagonal nave was added. The modern windows blend remarkably well with the historic part of the chapel. Unfortunately, I didn't go inside. But even from the outside, it's very beautiful and worth seeing.

There is a collection of stones in the arches of the old retaining wall of a former railway line

The bridge was a highlight, the beautiful rest area has been a construction site since the flood. At least there is still parking.

If you ride here, you will be on the wonderful Ahrtal cycle path. Characteristic features of the former railway line: information boards about the history of the Ahr Valley Railway, stone retaining walls with cozy niches that invite you to take a break, the former train station building in Müsch and a double signal line your path. The route does not present any major difficulties. The caveat is that there are only a few catering establishments on the Ahrtal cycle path. You have to look for them. Not everyone has good opening hours. It's nice that this retaining wall didn't fall victim to the demolition hammer 🍀. Especially on hot days, it's easy to drive or sit in the shade and study the numerous information boards.
