currently has a long section closed for district heating pipeline work (diversion sort of signposted) and more sections with the asphalt missing, would find a different route for the next few months (or just ride on the roadway instead, it’s not very busy)

a great alternative to the highway (and a designated museum road), not much traffic, rolling hills and variable scenery, okay asphalt, pretty long bike path in the western end (pretty terrible asphalt and poor sight lines, personally wouldn’t bother)

not too bad, mostly runs in a separate alignment next to an arterial, but the (fairly short) section through central Vuoksenniska in the middle is a bit dodgy, as well as the asphalt in the northern end main scenic highlight on this segment is the Church of the Three Crosses by Alvar Aalto towards the northern end of the segment (you can see it from the path as well but by all means do take a closer look as well)

Nice route to ride next to the road.

okay bike path running right next to the road, continues a bit further north beyond this segment, occasional lakeside views, and the local industry does not smell as bad as did in the 1980s :D for what it’s worth, the alternative route via Salosaari (Kaljaniementie/Patotie) is nice as well...

separate bike/ped path running alongside the former (and partly current) route 6, safer and much easier to navigate than the streets of Vuoksenniska, fairly flat, okay asphalt with the usual flaws (edit Oct 2023: the bridge at the eastern end of this segment is now open again)

almost 60 km of endless forest with the odd house here and there and little else, little traffic and generally okay-ish asphalt, at least the terrain is variable (though not too hilly, gets a lot hillier just east of here) and in general this is much nicer than the main roads (routes 6 and 14) but just keep in mind that there are no services en route
