The Reformed Church "De Fontein" dates from 1790 and was built on the remains of a 13th-century tuff stone predecessor. Later, in 1926, a second nave was added to the north side. As a national monument, the church stands out for its unique features, such as the cast bell, the pulpit, the baptismal font, the stained-glass window, and the organ. During the summer months, the church opens its doors on Saturday afternoons to visitors who wish to explore or enjoy a quiet conversation.

The harbor of Urk is the vibrant heart of the former island of Urk and exudes maritime history. This authentic fishing port lies on the IJsselmeer lake and is surrounded by historic buildings, charming terraces, and fishing boats that set sail daily. The aroma of freshly fried fish, the sound of seagulls, and the view of traditional cutters make this a charming place full of character. Take a stroll along the quay and sample a fresh portion of kibbeling (fried fish) or smoked eel at one of the local fish stalls. Also visit the Urk fishermen's monument and walk to the lighthouse for a magnificent view of the IJsselmeer lake – especially at sunset. In summer, botter trips are often available: a unique way to get out on the water and admire Urk from the IJsselmeer lake.

Spannenburg is known for its beam connection tower, bridge over the Margriet canal and the bus station with roadside restaurant. The bridge was built in 1952, the fixed part of this bridge has a clearance height of 7.05 meters. The tower of Spannenburg was built in 1972 and is still the highest tower in Friesland at 118 meters.
