Lekkum is a village in the municipality of Leeuwarden, in the Dutch province of Friesland. Lekkum is located north of the city of Leeuwarden on the Dokkumer Ee and west of the Ouddeel.

The Love fountain in Leeuwarden is located directly in front of the train station and is therefore easy to find. The two very tall, white sculptures are interesting to look at. Unfortunately, during our visit, only the ground was very lightly covered with mist. There was no sign of the 2-meter-high fog bank, and therefore the mystical effect was somewhat lacking.

Around the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, Sacred Heart worship was revived; Churches dedicated to the Sacred Heart were built and Sacred Heart statues were placed. Especially after the institution of the feast of Christ the King in 1925, Jesus was also depicted as king, with royal attributes such as a crown or scepter.
