Spannenburg is known for its beam connection tower, bridge over the Margriet canal and the bus station with roadside restaurant. The bridge was built in 1952, the fixed part of this bridge has a clearance height of 7.05 meters. The tower of Spannenburg was built in 1972 and is still the highest tower in Friesland at 118 meters.

The town hall in Bolsward is one of the most beautiful gems of Friesland. The richly decorated town hall was built between 1614 and 1617 and designed by Jacob Gysbert (father of Gysbert Japicx) in a Frisian mannerism style (late Renaissance). After the municipality of Bolsward merged with the municipality of Sùdwest-Fryslân in 2011, it lost its function as a town hall. The building will have a new function in the coming years: the new historical centre. A place where past and present meet with the museums, antiquity room, library and new archive storage. In short: the treasure trove of the region! The old town hall on the ground floor now houses "Blend", a catering establishment where you can dine in a pleasant and delicious atmosphere.
