In the middle of the greenery of the Achterhoek lies Kasteel Ruurlo, home to Museum MORE and one of the most atmospheric museums in the Netherlands. In this beautifully restored castle you can admire works by Carel Willink and Fong Leng, among others, surrounded by stylish halls and a picturesque park. The combination of art, architecture and landscape makes a visit special and surprisingly versatile.

Walking along the Liefdespad in Ruurlo you suddenly come face to face with another couple in love. Two deer heads with an impressive height of 6 meters look at each other from a distance, just like deer in love communicate with each other in real life. But watch out for the Train!!!

Westerflier Estate

The middle section of the current house dates from 1662. In the 19th and early 20th century it was expanded with a total of four towers. The house is the core of an intact country estate with two farm buildings, a large park, a workshop, a vegetable garden and an orangery. The character of the Nijenhuis estate is park-like: romantic walking paths along the winding Molenbeek, monumental groups of trees and picturesque vistas define the image. The beautiful Ruurlo Castle dates from the 14th century and is surrounded by a beautiful and lively English landscape garden. You can have a drink or a bite to eat in the Orangery with a view of the castle and gardens.
