The Kraaijenbergse Plassen form an extensive lake area of over 400 ha. The lakes are located in the municipality of Land van Cuijk. The lakes have been created since 1968 by the extraction of industrial sand, gravel and clay. You can cycle and walk around the lakes and there are many water sports to practice. There are several catering establishments around the lakes.

My absolute highlight in this area - small but beautiful. Pure nature - suitable for hikers and cyclists.

💚The green lung of Nijmegen 💚. The Kronenburgerpark: 5 minutes walk from the main station🚆. Remains of a medieval city wall and the Kruittor (German: Powder Tower) - 30 meters high, built in 1426 💚Recreational area from the hustle and bustle of the city. Especially on warmer days 🌞people find wonderful peace here on blankets in the grass 💚.

In the middle of the park you can see the 30 meter high Kronenburgerturm, which was once a warehouse for gunpowder. The tower is also known as the “Powder Tower”. The park is also home to the St. Jacob's Molen, parts of the historic city walls and there is a cave and a waterfall. In addition, the park is hilly, which is noticeable by the height difference of 14 meters between south and north. From 1880 the park was transformed into a beautiful hiking park, where it is pleasant to stay in the sun while taking a walk or lying on a blanket.
