You do have to take into account some crowds on nice days and during holiday periods. A bit of history of the owners who also live in the farm with their children and grandchildren and care for the heritage: 'de Laethof' is a typical Limburg Carré farm dating from 1721. In the past, the Laethof belonged to the Sint–Mariënstift in Aachen (D). Here the lates (half-free) had to pay taxes and/or keuren (harvest yields). This is also where the administration was done and justice was spoken between the lates. Hence the Latin inscription, in the Ardennes blue stone above the small gate on the street side, which translates as: "Create in me a pure and clean heart and renew my insides".
