Such great cycle paths can actually only be found in the Netherlands, so this cycle path is also excellently developed. It goes right through the dunes with great views and beautiful nature with heather, pines and oaks. Great nature reserve

Lively artists' village with spectacular nature With such a pleasant village centre full of cafés and restaurants, you would almost forget to go into nature. That's a shame, because the dunes near Bergen are among the most beautiful in our country. There are few places where you can see so much variety in landscapes. Forests, heathland, drifting dunes, lakes, beach; Bergen has it all. The artists' village has its own forest (Bergerbos) and is located on the border between two large nature reserves: the North Holland Dune Reserve and the Schoorlse Duinen. From the village you can walk straight into it and you can go for miles. So lace up your walking boots and discover the beautiful nature.

The cycle paths through this dune landscape are fantastic. Even without a motor, the bike rolls almost by itself :-)

nice area for cycling and hiking

The artists' village is located less than 10 kilometers north of Alkmaar on the edge of the North Holland dune reserve. When you drive into the village you immediately realize that it is not a normal holiday resort. Shady avenues, beautiful thatched villas and a cozy center with small cafes, good restaurants and the best ice cream parlor in the Netherlands.
