In 1978, the Moerdijkbrug monument was erected at the bridge. The monument on the Brabant bank at the bridge commemorates the completion of the new road bridge that year. It consists of two sawn-off bridge girders that embrace the old monument that was placed against the side of the road bridge in 1936: a female figure surrounded by the coats of arms of twelve cities from the North and South, where the Chambers of Commerce had campaigned for the construction of the road bridge at the time.
