There used to be a triple gallows there, and since last year, a few meters from the path toward the Scheppach Chapel, a small replica of a gallows has been erected there by the Burgwalden History Team following last year's Cultural Awards ceremony. Convicts from all over the region were brought to Burgwalden to be executed. A triple gallows was erected in Burgwalden for this purpose. At the execution site in the south, today's Gallows Hill, people were executed by hanging or sword over the next 250 years.

The Oberschönenfeld playground is located in the immediate vicinity of the Oberschönenfeld monastery in the Augsburg - Western Forests Nature Park. In 2021, the playground was extensively redesigned to be barrier-free in order to enable children with and without disabilities to play together. Playground facilities: • Playable stream with barrier-free water play areas • Swing forest with various swings, including hammock swing, bird's nest swing and contact swing for two people • Balancing course • Seesaw area • Play hill with slides • Movement play area • Table tennis table, barrier-free access • Seating and seating groups with tables A tactile map and floor indicators make it easier to find your way around the site. The playground was awarded the German SPIELRAUM Prize 2021 by the specialist magazine "STADT und RAUM", which underlines its special design and inclusivity. In the area around the playground, other attractions such as the Oberschönenfeld Museum and the forest adventure trail invite you to a varied family outing.
