If you come down from Beerberg and want to continue on to Oberhof, you should definitely join the cycle path to Oberhof west of the car park. It is best to turn left at the car park and go against the one-way street 😊 to the cycle path at the upper and western end of the car park. Unfortunately, there is no green arrow or other indication of the beautiful, car-free, tarred cycle path from the roundabout into Oberhof.

The best view of the Rennsteig ski jump is from the road or from the viewing point directly below. It is definitely worth making the climb from the valley of the Haselbach.

Highlight already exists as a section... Wonderful valley with a small road that stretches for almost 12km between Arnstadt and Crawinkel. There is a bit more traffic in the afternoon, but it's still bearable. Asphalt is great!

As you drive past, the church stands out because it was built very close to the street. The plastered half-timbered church with a slate-covered roof tower, which stands in line with the street, was built in 1701/02. The simple rectangular nave with galleries was designed according to the pattern of the so-called Karlskirchen. The baptismal font dates from the time it was built. The organ dates from 1884. A time trial has been held here every year since 2023, the "Jonastaler Challenge". Highly recommended...It's really fun to ride along there. If you're unlucky, the wind whistles through the valley. I love this route! 🚴🏻♀️✌🏼
