The Evangelical Lutheran Church of St. Mary Margaret is located in the Rentwertshausen district of the Grabfeld municipality in the Schmalkalden-Meiningen district of Thuringia. It belongs to the Bibra parish in the Meiningen church district of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany. There is no date of construction for this strikingly small village church, with its half-timbered upper story in the church tower. Nothing is known about a previous building. However, the year 1604 in the pulpit inscription is linked to the construction period. The organ was purchased around 1800, and the baptismal font, dating from 1844, is neo-Gothic. In 1983, the church received modern wooden decorations, including an altar cross, antependium, ambo, and pulpit, by the Greiz artist Elly-Viola Nahmmacher. Classy and very old

The focal point of Bad Königshofen is the large market square with its three ornamental fountains: the Luitpold Fountain under the linden tree, the Röhrenbrunnen (Tube Fountain), and the Michaelsbrunnen (Michael Fountain), above which the wrought-iron angel "floats." The Vierröhrenbrunnen (Four-Tube Fountain) in front of the Schlundhaus (Thrush House) was fed by a water pipe even before the Thirty Years' War, making it an important part of the town. The special items of equipment include the bronze grave monuments of the Henneberg counts, which came from the workshop of the Nuremberg bronze caster Peter Vischer the Elder and his sons. The monuments were created between 1488 and 1510 and have been in the baptismal chapel since 1735. They are a statue of Otto IV of Henneberg and the tomb for Hermann VIII of Henneberg and his wife Elisabeth of Brandenburg, a work from the early Renaissance period that bears a total of 16 coats of arms.
