From the front, the church looks like a fortress. For this sparsely populated area, this church—like many others—is far too large for the village.

At 587 meters, the Valtenberg is the highest mountain in the Lusatian Mountains. The proud tower alone is worth a visit. An event operator was recruited for the restaurant in 2025 – who may also continue to run the mountain lodge as a tenant.

The "Rote Floß" (Red Raft) spring originates here. Stone benches used to surround the spring, but these are now buried along with the spring itself.
