Alĕa iacta est, traditionally translated into Italian as Il dado è tratto, meaning "the die has been cast," is a Latin phrase that has become proverbial in the metaphorical sense of "the decision is made," "the challenge is now thrown down." This expression is used when a decision is made from which there is no turning back, to indicate that the point of no return has been passed. According to Suetonius (Divus Julius, 32), the phrase, in the different word order Iacta alĕa est, was uttered by Caesar on January 10, 49 BC, before crossing the Rubicon River with his army and thus starting the civil war against Pompey. "Zona Cesarini" is the free beach in Villamarina, an area reclaimed from decay and neglect thanks to the commitment and passion of the Cooperativa Stabilimenti Balneari, which offers new services and free shade with traditional beach tents. There are about twenty beach tents designed by renowned artists, available to tourists. There are also two beach volleyball courts, a large children's area, showers and restrooms, Wi-Fi, and a wheelchair for disabled people to swim. The area also features a large pet-friendly area, the first in the Municipality of Cesenatico on a free beach. In addition to these free services, there is a small kiosk offering coffee and light refreshments.
