On Lake Maggiore, in the province of Varese, the town of Sasso Moro boasts a small port from which mostly small private sailing boats and pedal boats depart. The port area is preceded by a lush forest.

Laveno is home to one of the most beautiful marinas in all of Lake Maggiore. Its convenient connection with Verbania (a 20-minute ferry ride takes you to the Piedmontese shore) makes this town one of the busiest tourist centers on all of Lake Maggiore. Laveno is also famous for the Sasso del Ferro cable car: the panorama from the summit is spectacular.

Worth seeing, but also quite touristy place. From here you can take the ferry to Verbania and make a nice round trip.
