A beautiful climb to the hut, but it's closed for renovations in 2025. You can't even reach the summit because of this closure. The climb is still worthwhile, as nobody really climbs here and the view is beautiful.

I don't know why someone is rating all my photos of the summit cross as "inaccurate." Has anyone still not noticed that the cross has been new since 2022? If someone doesn't like the cross, that doesn't mean my photos are inaccurate.

The Rifugio Passo di Vizze is located at 2,276 meters above sea level on the Italian-Austrian border, in the Ötztal Alps. It offers a refreshment service with typical cuisine and the possibility of overnight stays. From this vantage point on the trails above Vipiteno and the hamlet of Prati, you can enjoy a remarkable view of the valleys of the Isarco and the Rio di Vizze. The latter flows into the Isarco just south of Vipiteno.

This steep ridge trail leads to the summit of Gran Pilastro, on the Italian-Austrian border, between the province of Bolzano and Tyrol. Be careful because the trail is not very wide and you are at a high altitude: Gran Pilastro, clearly visible from here, is in fact at 3,510 meters above sea level.
