The church of San Biagio in Izano has been mentioned since the 12th century, when it depended on the Benedictine monastery of San Benedetto di Crema. In 1792, the church was rebuilt and expanded in 1899-1900 by the engineer Vittorio Vimercati, who created the transept, presbytery, apse, and neo-Gothic façade.
