The Castle of San Salvatore in Susegana, owned by the Collalto counts (privately owned), is an imposing medieval fortified complex, built in the second half of the 13th century as a strategic fortress. It later became a stately home and cultural center during the Renaissance, hosting artists such as Cima da Conegliano and writers such as Giovanni Della Casa. It suffered extensive damage during the First World War before being restored for special events.

Conegliano Castle dominates the city from its hilltop position. The first document mentioning it dates back to 1016 AD, but the structure reached its maximum extension in the fourteenth century, thanks to the influence of the Scaligeri and Carraresi rulers.

4월 21, 2023, Prosecco Wine Route
The popular Italian sparkling wine can only be called “Prosecco” if it comes from the typical Prosecco grape. In Veneto, this light, low-alcohol wine is often consumed as a glass (“un’ombretta”). Like champagne, it used to be fermented exclusively in the bottle. Today it is fermented in large tanks and bottled with a certain amount of residual sugar, which brings the “frizzante” to the sparkling wine during fermentation. In addition to the sparkling wine, there is the “Prosecco Spumante” as a sparkling wine, a “Gran Cuvée” and a still Prosecco, the “Prosecco Tranquillo” as a normal white wine. The Prosecco Road begins at Conegliano Castle and leads through the beautiful vineyards via the towns of San Pietro di Feletto, Refrentolo, Soligo and Col San Martino to Valdobbiadene. The trip takes about half a day or longer, depending on how much you want to dedicate yourself to tasting the “Prosecco” in a “Bottega del Vino”. In the quiet Col San Martino, a long-established “trattoria” invites you to try Venetian delicacies. At the top of one of the surrounding wine hills is the “Chiesa di San Virgilio”, built in the 13th century, which can be reached after a short walk. From up here you can enjoy a wonderful view of the picturesque landscape. As you continue west, it is also worth visiting the impressive “Chiesa di San Martino”, which was built on a mountainside.

4월 15, 2023, Parish Church of Saints Martino and Rosa
Parish church of Santi Martino e Rosa Starting from the walls of the Refosso moat, after crossing the San Martino bridge over the Monticano river, you can see on the left the church with its unmistakable, raw stone and brick façade. The bell tower rises on the left. Although the year the church was built is not known, it is known that it was part of a larger complex with charitable institutions at the beginning of the 13th century. The San Martino building was initially given to the monks of the Hospitaller Order (Crociferi) (1639) and then passed to the Dominicans in 1665, who expanded the building. Inside the church, which consists of a single room, numerous works by the members of the order can be seen. The choir, the crowning of the high altar and the pulpit, for example, are from Brother Elia Biondo from the 18th century, the main altar is the work of Brother Carlo Bonazza (1695), the wooden choir was created by Brother Ludovico Vittorio Facchini (around 1696). . Also worth mentioning are the painting Adoration of the Shepherds by Francesco da Milano, the depiction of Saints Sebastian and Barbara and Rochus del Pozzoserrato and the large picture in the presbytery of the Last Supper by the painter Sante Peranda (1615).
