The Rifugio Passo di Vizze is located at 2,276 meters above sea level on the Italian-Austrian border, in the Ötztal Alps. Unfortunately closed: no viewing

Until a few years ago, anyone who wanted to spend a holiday in the Pusteria Valley from Brenner or Salorno was forced to drive through the ruins of the Klusa of Rio Pusteria. Today, traffic no longer flows directly through this fortress.

Several serviced huts make up for the arduous climb on foot or by bike. This small mountain village never fails to amaze.

Beautiful view of the Fane Alm

The facility fits perfectly into the landscape. The route is very close to optimal. You have to drive it several times to take in all the impressions.

The South Tyroleans call it Fane, and on hiking maps it is referred to as Fanealm or Fane Alm. The Italians call it Malga Fane. This always refers to the rustic alpine village above Mühlbach in the Valsertal, embedded in the spectacular mountain scenery of the Pfunderer Mountains. This is how you imagine a picture-book alpine pasture in the Alps! The Fane Alm consists of shingle-covered residential and hay huts, a small church and three alpine taverns on a lush green alpine meadow. The Fane Alm is rightly called the most beautiful alpine village in South Tyrol.
