The Schwarzenberg Forest Stage, Germany's second-largest historic open-air stage, seats 12,500 music and art enthusiasts. Built between 1934 and 1937 in the style of an open-air theater from granite on an old quarry, based on a design by Ludwig Moshamer, it is today both an impressive architectural monument and a venue for unforgettable concerts with a unique atmosphere and guaranteed to give you goosebumps. Its idyllic elevated location in the town's Rockelmann Park offers visitors entirely new perspectives of the beautiful Ore Mountains landscape and Schwarzenberg's landmarks. From 1990 to 2025, the Schwarzenberg Forest Stage hosted 125 events, attracting a total of over 778,000 visitors. (https://www.schwarzenberg.de/de/waldbuehne-schwarzenberg.html) Access to the open-air stage is possible, but difficult.

With "Art and Pub," the Rademann Gallery, and the Kafka Art Gallery, there are now three plausible reasons to call the Marktgässchen (Market Alley) "Artists' Alley," as has been displayed in white on a blue banner since December 2014. And why not? More information at: https://schwarzenberg-blog.de/tag/kuenstlergaesschen-schwarzenberg

Around 1150, two watchtowers were built on a rocky spur above the Schwarzwasser River to protect the trade routes to Bohemia. The present-day keep and castle stand on this site. From 1555 to 1558, the former castle was converted into a hunting lodge by order of Elector August. Today, the castle houses the municipal museum and cultural institutions, such as the Erzgebirge district's cultural organization, the folk art school, and parts of the Erzgebirge district's adult education center. Next to the castle is St. George's Church, which was built between 1690 and 1699 according to plans by the Lößnitz architect Johann Georg Roth and features a self-supporting ceiling. The interior of St. George's Church is in the Baroque style. Of particular note is the wrought-iron altar screen by the Schwarzenberg master blacksmith Zacharias Georgi. In 1993, a new Eule organ with 36 stops was installed in the church.

The mountain is located in Schwarzenberg/Erzgebirge and is 643 meters high. The Hirschstein is located near the Bermsgrün district and the village of Erla. Due to the dense forest, there is no direct access to the summit.
