The Italian/Slovenian border with a border stone and an information panel highlighting the area's warlike past. On the Italian side, the road is paved up to this point; on the Slovenian side, the gravel road begins.

The bivouac is named after the fallen Italian soldier Giuseppe Zanuso. It is located in a sheltered bend directly on the trail. From here, a short climb through meadows leads to a small peak directly on the SLO/ITA border line with its boundary marker, from where you can enjoy a beautiful view of Slovenia and Italy.

The road is very pleasant to cycle through on good asphalt. At the northern entrance to the village, there's a watering hole, resembling a small pool. The village is home to very well-preserved and well-maintained houses, especially the stone ones. A small boutique is a delight as you cycle through.

The village of Clodig lies deep in the valley at the confluence of three rivers. It is a small traffic junction because four roads intersect in the village.
