Very pretty little castle with informative signs. You can easily spend 1-2 hours here. Make sure to check the opening times beforehand!

The tower is so high that the castle almost looks a bit like a church. Welsperg Castle is a rather rare inner castle and the high keep is the oldest part of it. The unusual proportions were created by a fire after the burnt-out top floor of the outbuilding was demolished and the roof structure was simply rebuilt one floor below. The history of the complex is also exciting and you can find out more about it on a tour. In my opinion, the lake is one of the most beautiful in the Dolomites. However, bathing is only for the toughest. The campsite restaurant has a delicious Calzone pizza!

A visit is absolutely worthwhile. During the tour around the lake you can learn a lot about the lake, the nature and the environment. The path is also suitable for children / families and easy to walk on. The restaurant on the lake is a bit overpriced.

At the lake there is a very good campsite and a good gastronomy. The campsite is also set up for cyclists with a tent and an overnight stay without prior reservation. There are separate campsites under trees with a bench.
