Hike from Merano 2000 to the Ifinger Hut or the Leiten Alm (directly above). I've done the tour several times and the path gets increasingly more challenging and dangerous in sections. Some scree fields are very steep and no path is visible. The rock is very loose and slippery underfoot. Goats grazing above there trigger rockfalls. The iron steps carved into the rock in some sections are not for short legs. Extremely slippery when wet. Definitely not suitable for families (still doable with 10-year-old children in 2018). This was definitely the last time for me. If you still want to go to the saddle, I recommend climbing up from the Iffinger Hut and then returning the same way. This is also doable with children and not dangerous.

The Klammeben inn is located in the mountainous heights above Schenna, between mountain slopes and wide meadows at around 2,000 m. From April to the beginning of November, hikers and holiday guests are warmly welcomed; you can stop off every day and spend a wonderful day at the Klammeben inn.
