From 1853 onwards, Ignaz von Giovanelli had a medieval tower converted into a residential building, which was then commissioned by the k.k. It was enlarged between 1900 and 1906 by the Minister of Agriculture Carl von Giovanelli by the Vienna Chief Building Officer Redlich in a historicizing style with elements from Uberet. Aehrental Castle, Caldaro From the mansion to the castle hotel THE HISTORY To this day, the Aehrental residence is the epitome of the Kalterer manor house of the early 17th century.
