Drena Castle dominates the middle Sarca Valley from above, perched on a rocky spur that offers a wide view of vineyards, olive groves and the Marocche. Reaching it by bike is short but intense: whether you go up from Dro or Braila, the slopes are felt, especially in the last few meters. The castle is a perfect stop for a panoramic break: you can enter and climb the tower to admire the valley from above or simply rest in the shade of its walls.

A 25-meter-high quadrangular keep of medieval origin, in the province of Trento, Drena Castle can be visited during FAI days and hosts events, art exhibitions, weddings and concerts. The city walls are currently being restored.

Great castle from the outside, unfortunately it was closed on Monday.

By chance we rode our bikes straight through the open gate into the castle courtyard. Unfortunately there was no restaurant there that we had hoped for😏 We were politely complimented on leaving immediately afterwards 😅

Located right at the exit of a via ferrata, definitely worth a visit, great view🙋‍♂️
