Nicknamed "the balcony of Romagna", Bertinoro is a medieval village rich in history and perfect for a stop during your bike rides. From this and other points you can see why it got its nickname: you can enjoy a magnificent view of the sea and the Romagna plain.

La Strada dei Mestieri Scomparsi – the street “Custarèna” at the beginning of Via delle Mura, houses six paintings created to preserve the memory and history of the ancient trades of the city. Among these trades we find the blacksmith, the shoemaker and the carpenter.

The pride of Bertinoro: Arnaldo Pambianco (Bertinoro, August 16, 1935 – ibid., July 6, 2022) was a very regular Italian cyclist, whose absolute highlight was the Giro d'Italia 1961 (100th edition!) He also won Milan - Turin (1960), the Tour of Sardinia (1963) and the Brabantse Pijl (1964). Following his death in 2022 (as did his wife), a mural by Venezuelan urban artist Luis Gomez De Teran was inaugurated in 2023. Gomez De Teran, known for his realistic style inspired by the Baroque, uses strong contrasts of light and shadow to bring his works to life

Along Via Guado you will pass the Campo del Sole winery, a winery located in the Bertinoro hills, designed by architect Fiorenzo Valbonesi and his studio ASV3. The winery, built between 2005 and 2007, was designed to live in harmony with the natural environment. The building adapts to the natural slope of the hills and uses materials and colours that respect the surroundings. Inside, the winery offers spacious and functional spaces, adapted to modern technologies without disturbing the natural forms. The choice of sustainable and high-tech materials emphasises the focus on sustainability and quality. Only when you return to the main road do you have a view of the winery.

This piazza was dedicated to the “Hero of Two Worlds” in 1885. Until the mid-18th century it was unpaved and served as a market, cattle market and meeting place for business. It was also used as an arena for games such as “pallone a bracciale”. In this square are the six arches that give access to the Rocca and connect it with the inner courtyard (Piazza Fratti), the old courtyard of the fortress. For a long time the square maintained an open and picturesque appearance with areas of land planted with mulberry trees. Over time many buildings were built around it, often using reused materials from the destruction of the tower of the Rocca at the end of the 18th century. On the west side of the square, next to the clock tower, stood the birthplace of Pellegrino Artusi, where he was attacked by the Passatore gang. In March 1961 the house was demolished after a change of ownership.

In Forlimpopoli, the artist Pier Paolo Spinazzé, known as “Cibo,” has created a large mural in honor of Pellegrino Artusi and his famous cookbook “La scienza in cucina e l’arte di mangiare bene.” Cibo is known for his work in which he paints over hateful symbols and graffiti with colorful images of food. For this particular mural, he chose to illustrate the recipe for “cappelletti all’uso di Romagna,” a dish typical of the region and Artusi’s origins. The mural shows the ingredients, the preparation of the pasta, and the way the cappelletti are folded and cooked.
