Beautiful weather shelter for a cozy break

Reipoltskirchen Castle is one of the best-preserved moated castles in the Palatinate region, picturesquely perched above the Odenbach River. Originally built in the 12th century, it served as a noble residence for centuries and has been rebuilt several times. Today, the castle houses a restaurant and offers visitors a fascinating insight into medieval architecture combined with modern elements. The installation "Step Inside" by French artist Will Menter was created in 2015 and is made of oak and steel cables. It explicitly invites visitors to step inside and experience the sculpture with all their senses. As they walk through it, the wooden slats sway in the wind, creating soft sounds – an interplay of natural sounds and artistic design. The work combines sound art with the landscape, transforming the walk into an interactive experience. The sculpture "Habitat III" by German artist Stefan Engel was created in 2010 and combines oak with Plexiglas.
