Today's highlight was the first hour of sunshine after several gloomy days at the campervan site, and lots of nice people. I always enjoy coming here; there's always something new to discover.

🌿 Ulmet–Erdesbach Water Trail An educational trail along the Glan River with information panels on water ecology, the history of its use, and nature conservation. Ideal for families and nature enthusiasts. Tip: Start in Ulmet (Gallushalle) or Erdesbach, and combine your tour with a trolley ride or a stop for refreshments – along the way, floodplains, quiet stretches of river, and informative stations invite you to pause for a moment.

🥪 Picnic area with a view of the Glan Valley (Wartekopf) A simple, natural rest area with a sweeping view of the Glan Valley – ideal for a relaxing snack in the heart of the Wartekopf oasis. Surrounded by dry grassland and oak trees, this spot brings peace and space to your break. Tip: Come in the early afternoon, when the light bathes the Glan Valley in warm tones – a perfect moment to take a breather.

🛡️ "Old German" by August Drumm An impressive bronze bust of a Germanic warrior – characteristic of August Drumm's expressive style. Located directly at the Gallushalle in Ulmet, it brings history and art to your break. Tip: Be inspired by the autumnal bronze tone – the warrior appears particularly powerful when the light accentuates him. Perfect for pausing for a moment and sensing history.

The region can be explored in a very special way on the disused tracks of the Glan-Blies Railway: Ride a bicycle trolley through the Glan Valley, passing meadows, bridges, and small villages. It's an unusual and family-friendly way to travel. 💡 Tip: You can rent trolleys for around 40km between Altenglan and Staudernheim – ideal for a day trip! Reserve early, as spaces are limited.

🌿 Wartekopf Nature Reserve A refuge for flora and fauna: The area around the Wartekopf near Ulmet is under special protection. Dry grasslands, rare plants, and quiet paths characterize the landscape. 📝 Tip: Please stay on the paths – nature takes priority here.
