The origin of this small town is as a castle. Today only the imprint remains in the urban planning and in the strategic position: perched on a rocky spur between the Trossa and the Adio. The village of Riparbella is located in the Cecina Valley. A medieval castle once stood here, commissioned by the Della Gherardesca counts. The numerous surrounding woods allow for walks or bike rides, even horseback excursions, along nature trails such as the one in the Scornabecchi Garden, home to numerous wild boars, particularly appreciated in local cuisine, especially during the traditional November festival.
