In the heart of the province of Pisa, in Lorenzana there is a road junction that offers at least three important itineraries: a flat one towards Livorno, a hilly one towards Santa Luce (which then continues to Castellina Marittima, Riparbella and the Val di Cecina) and one, also hilly, in the direction of s. Ermo, Casciana Alta-Bagni di Casciana, from which other radial itineraries are possible (Chianni, Terricciola, Colle Montanino ...). The short climb to s. Ermo is moderate and offers remarkable landscape views over the valley, especially in spring, at the time of the rapeseed flowering and on. On top of the hill of s. Ermo a short path leads to the sanctuary of the Madonna dei Monti.
