Castel Gandolfo: 로마 성곽의 발코니 🏰 Castel Gandolfo에 도착하여 알바노 호수를 바라보는 것은 어떤 오르막길도 보상받는 느낌을 줍니다. 숨 막힐 듯 아름다운 광경입니다. 거의 최면적인 깊고 푸른 물은 로마 성곽 공원의 무성한 녹지로 둘러싸여 있습니다. 물통을 채우고 주변 숲으로 다시 출발하기 전에 눈을 즐겁게 하기 위한 필수 코스입니다.

I found it quite a challenge on a non-suspended electric folding bike. I had to walk some sections because the path was too narrow, sloping, and/or too many stones. The road was closed off at the beginning, but there was a small path around it. Nice route, but in my case, probably better to walk with the dogs.

According to tradition, Saint Pancras, to whom this church—the seat of the Bishop of Albano—is dedicated, was publicly executed for his Christian faith at the end of the 3rd/beginning of the 4th century under Emperor Diocletian. The martyr's body was buried on the Roman Via Aurelia—in the catacombs later named after him—beneath the present-day church of San Pancrazio. Saint Pancras' feast day is May 12th; in popular piety, he is one of the three so-called "Ice Saints," along with Saints Servatius and Boniface (in some regions, this is supplemented by "Cold Sophia" one day later).

A Roman Doric temple, built between 89 and 80 BC on the acropolis of Cori, well preserved thanks to its later use as a church; famous for its columns and panoramic view.
