There are numerous hiking trails in the wooded area of “Kühlung”. You should always have a map and/or app with you, as in my experience there is sometimes insufficient signage and marked paths are not always easy to pass. The tourist focus seems to be on the coast.

The Kühlung, a forested ridge, is also referred to as the “smallest low mountain range in Northern Germany”. And in fact, here you don't go straight on a level, but you have to overcome a few meters in altitude. You come across crossroads and sometimes the path curves through the Forest: Not only hikers, but also joggers and cyclists appreciate the variety of paths that the mountain range offers. Paths that you can walk along here and that provide an insight into the cooling system are the "Seagull Path" (path marking: stylized white seagull) and the "Panorama Path" (partly signposted).

A good starting point for motorists to start hiking tours (e.g. the panorama path) from here. Parking is free here. There is also an adventure playground right by the parking lot. An information sign, modeled on the Bastorf lighthouse, informs the visitor about the hiking route from Bastorf.

There is a wooden shelter here, which is great protection from the rain. There are also some long benches outside, almost in a semicircle. Even large hiking groups can take a break here without any problems.
