The Neckarzimmern Lock is a significant facility on the Neckar River in Baden-Württemberg. It was completed in 1935 as part of the canalization of the Neckar River 1 2. The lock consists of two chambers and has a lifting height of 5.60 meters 1 2. The facility also includes a hydroelectric power plant that operates year-round. The weir bridge spanning the lock is part of the Neckar Valley Cycle Path and is used by both cyclists and pedestrians.

Nice hut - but the view is very overgrown

Idyllic little village crossed by the Neckar Cycle Path. There's a rest area by the fountain and a drinks and snack vending machine 100 meters from the village.

This is really great - you can take a break here and get some good food.

The Guttenbach Lock is an interesting point on the hike. It provides boat traffic on the Neckar and offers beautiful views of the river. The area around the lock is quiet and idyllic—ideal for a short break to marvel at the lock's technology and enjoy nature.
