The 38-meter-high water tower, an expressionist clinker building (1927 by Walter Helmcke), was damaged in the Second World War but was preserved and restored in the 1980s. There used to be a restaurant downstairs. In connection with the high ropes course, a café was opened there in 2012. The Jungfernheide public park, designed by Charlottenburg's director of gardening Erwin Barth, was opened in 1923. In the following years, work continued on completing the recreational facility. Foundation work for the water tower, which was to form the eastern end of the main axis, began in 1924. Initial drafts were drawn up by the park administration and Erwin Barth. The tower was intended to be a water reservoir for park irrigation, as well as to house a restaurant and serve as an observation tower. However, the final construction was entrusted to Charlottenburg's chief architect Walter Helmcke in 1925, who fundamentally revised the previous plans. Construction work began in February 1926, and the following year the water tower, which now only housed the water reservoir for the park, was completed. The tower, which was badly damaged in World War II, was restored in the 1950s. On the occasion of the 750th anniversary in Berlin, the tower was given a roof-shaped shelter and has since been used seasonally as a café

At the foot of the tower there is a restaurant and a beautiful lawn. It is a good place to take a break.

The large pond in the Volkspark Jungfernheide constantly receives fresh inflow from the Spandau shipping canal via the Nonnengrabenkanal and releases its water into the lower Spree. The pool was created artificially, the western part serves as an outdoor swimming pool, and swimming is prohibited in the eastern part.
