"The Catholic Church of St. Mary Magdalene is a late Romanesque neo-Romanesque quarry stone basilica. The church was built in its current form in 1902 according to plans by government architect Heinrich Krings of Cologne. The Romanesque flanking tower was raised by one story and incorporated into the new building. More on the castle's interesting history: https://www.kuladig.de/Objektansicht/O-98105-20140804-3 It's nice that the complex perched on the spur has been preserved and that stylistically successful additions are possible today. Otherwise, they are nothing but lifeless, hollow, expensive, and often littered remnants of facades/structures/quarries. In the Middle Ages, these were also only partially livable as security-related functional buildings. This means they have a future again.
