The Großer Feldberg bus stop is an important hub for hikers and visitors to the Taunus. It is served by bus line 57 of the Hochtaunus Transport Association (VHT), which runs every 60 minutes on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays and every two hours from Monday to Friday between Königstein and the Großer Feldberg.

After large-scale tree felling due to Due to bark beetle infestation, the Weisse Stein has also offered a good view of the Großer Feldberg since 2022!

The red cross marks a pass that was used by historic trade routes and was so important that the Romans built a fort to control it. The castle in Oberreifenberg later served the same function in the Middle Ages.

Update May 2023: The restaurant operations were discontinued by the tenants over six months ago following disagreements with HessenForst. The building is currently falling into disrepair. Soon another lost place in the Taunus 🥴
