The Radenbach Valley: One of the most beautiful and pristine heath valleys. Other small valleys flow into it on the left and right. The path runs in constant ups and downs, mostly above the Radenbach.

Beautiful at any time of year and deserted in the early morning.

The strong purple of many millions of flowers, interrupted by the lush green of the junipers and pine trees and the silvery white of the birch trees, color the entire region. The heather blossom is the absolute highlight of the year in the Lüneburg Heath. Anyone who has ever smelled the scent of honey, witnessed a sunset on the Wilseder Berg and hiked through the vast heathland knows what they have in this region. If the climatic conditions remain balanced, the common heather shines from the beginning of August to mid-September. In the middle of the nature reserve lies the Undeloher Heide with the Radenbachtal - a true gem in the Lüneburg Heath. Directly from the Undeloh village pond, the beginning of one of the largest contiguous and most varied heath areas in Central Europe opens up on the hill, characterized by Calluna vulgaris, the common heather.

In particular in the area of a terminal moraine range, the most well-known of which is the Wilseder Berg, extensive dwarf shrub and juniper heaths, scattered species-rich mat grass lawns, have developed through traditional heath farming and have been preserved through maintenance measures, which today bear witness to the image of what used to be the predominant part of the Geest-encompassing heathland. Characteristic for the appearance of this landscape, which is important not only for culture but also for a large number of species, are the areas with common heather, which are divided into large areas by juniper stands and show a small-scale and dynamic location mosaic. On inland dunes there are transitions to dry grassland with bent and silver grass. In groundwater-affected, partly boggy depressions, damp heaths with bell heather can be found, in which the inflorescences of the endangered bog lily set yellow color accents.
