The 7 Steles by Norbert Zagel are an impressive group of sculptures by the artist Norbert Zagel, which can be found in the forest area near Unterwittelsbach, a district of Aichach in the Aichach-Friedberg district, Bavaria. These seven wooden steles, which represent human heads, are set up along a hiking trail and blend harmoniously into the natural environment. Description: Each of the seven steles is individually designed and shows different facial features, thereby representing a variety of human expressions. The sculptures are made of wood and have been treated to withstand the effects of the weather. They stand along a forest path and invite visitors to pause and look at the works of art in the midst of nature. This approximately 11.5 kilometer long circular trail starts at the sports field in Obergriesbach and leads along numerous sights, including historic churches and picturesque landscapes. The parish church of St. Stephan in Obergriesbach, for example, houses valuable gravestones from the time of the noble Weichs family. In Zahling, the parish church of St. Gregory the Great can be visited, which was built in 1778 with the support of the Counts of Thurn and Taxis.
