early climb recommended in summer - the heat tends to build up on the climb and the mix with brakes is never great then

I often hear that you should walk all the way around the Schrecksee. Right on the shore. But I don't think that's very nice. The view from further up is actually much more impressive. Depending on where you come from and how you continue your hike, this situation almost happens automatically. So you don't have to get your legs in your hands right down at the lake.

A beautiful mountain lake in a fantastic location.

Great route with incredibly beautiful and very diverse views! It took me about 7 hours from the mountain station all the way back to Oberstdorf. Was worth it! If you take the scooters at the end you might save 3/4 hours
