The Zwarte Berg (Black Mountain) is a prehistoric burial mound on a sandy ridge in the Brabant Kempen region, dating back to the (late) Bronze Age. It's a solitary monument in the landscape: a low, circular mound that once served as a burial ground for one or more members of a local community. Over the centuries, the mound has been partially eroded, but its shape is still clearly visible. The combination of heathland, woodland hummocks, and this archaeological relief gives the site a tranquil, timeless atmosphere—a beautiful historical accent during the walk.

The Meeuwven is located just outside Aalst, on the Hutdijk. It is a nutrient-poor lake that depends on rainwater. After a dry summer, it is almost empty. The name has nothing to do with seabirds; rather, it is a corruption of "Nieuwven" (New Marsh) due to the marsh. Before the Napoleonic era, this was the name of the lake. The name may have changed due to a cartographer's misplacement.

The Valley of the Kleine Beerze is a management unit of the Brabants Landschap, the municipality of Eersel and the municipality of Oirschot. It is located within the municipality of Oirschot, the municipality of Bladel and Eersel and includes a number of areas along the valley of the Kleine Beerze via Duizel, Hoogeloon, Vessem and Middelbeers, of which Molenbroek and Spekdonken are the most important. Molenbroek is a former green municipality, a common land ownership that was never parcelled out. It was used as a cattle pasture and for water storage. The latter was important for the water mill downstream, which is also the reason for the name of this marshland. The Spekdonken is a complex of elongated medieval hayfield plots. The Zwarte Berg or Zwartenberg is one of the largest burial mounds from the Bronze Age in the Netherlands and Belgium. The hill, built around 1500 BC. during the Hilversum culture, contained the remains of a burned dead person with a bronze ax as a grave gift. It is a ring-walled hill, surrounded by a moat, rampart and poles. It is quite overgrown.

This burial mound is no less than 3,500 years old and has a diameter of 44 meters. This makes it one of the largest burial mounds from the Bronze Age in the Netherlands!
