The two small lakes Coredo and Tavon, in the town of Palù, are nestled in a fascinating mountain setting. They are located at an altitude of 830 m, are of glacial origin and have a surface area of approximately 25,000 m².

This monastery is located in Val di Non, the largest valley in Trentino. The hermitage and pilgrimage site of San Romedio is one of the most interesting buildings of medieval Christian art in Trentino. The hermitage stands on a 70m high limestone rock and is made up of several churches and chapels that adapt to the shape of the rock. The oldest church was already built around the year 1000 on the tomb of San Romedio.

Originating with the melting of the glaciers, about 15 thousand years ago, Lake Tovel has a perimeter of 3.5 km and a maximum length of 1 km. It consists of two basins: the Baia Rossa, to the south-west, where the depth does not exceed 9 metres, and the north-east basin, with waters reaching up to 38.5 metres. On the bottom of the lake there are still rooted trunks of trees that were submerged in 1597 by the sudden rise of the lake caused by a landslide that blocked the ancient outlet. Today its shores, partly sandy and bathed in turquoise waters, recreate a unique landscape reminiscent of tropical beaches. All around, coniferous forests climb the peaks up to over 2,000 meters in altitude, braving almost vertical walls. The tour of the lake, within everyone's reach and very relaxing, is the most immediate way to immerse yourself in the fairy-tale atmosphere of this place in the Brenta Dolomites.

The Coredo and Tavon lakes, also known as "The Two Lakes", are artificial basins built in 1958 for irrigation purposes. Located in Palù, at 830 m a.s.l., they are divided from each other by a dam; they extend for 25,000 square meters in a pleasant alpine setting. The lakes are not suitable for swimming, but sport fishing is possible on site.

Very impressive via ferrata of moderate difficulty, including some spectacular gorge sections. At the start of the "variant" there is a 30 meter high ladder section, which also marks the maximum difficulty. This is followed by a rather "tightened hiking trail" until you turn into the crevasse-like gorge, which the trail follows from here. First, vertically over a rock step, but comfortably secured with a rope and iron cramps, it then continues pathlessly in the gorge floor. You can hardly get lost in the gorge, some of which is well over 50 meters deep, but you still have to find your own way over the scree, only a few markings, some of which are quite faint, show that you are in the right place. Stay close to the rock faces, falling rocks from a great height cannot be ruled out here. After vigorous climbing, the gorge widens a bit and at the end you emerge from a beautiful basin into which several small waterfalls flow.

Wonderful place. Definitely to be included in the excursions to do. Easy to reach with the various parking lots along the road if you don't want to walk too much.

The way there over the partly steep road is really exhausting but as soon as you get to the top "simply breathtaking"

Very nice, not too difficult via ferrata. Above all, it is nice and cool in the gorge. At the beginning it goes over the rocks, it can be quite hot there, especially in summer.
