From the Tettenhengst pass there is a wonderful view of the Gutenstein Alps and Hochreit Castle.

The castle, built in the 12th century, is located at the beginning of the Triestingtal, in the district of Lilienfeld. At almost 800 meters above sea level, it is the highest castle ruin in Lower Austria. The castle is owned by Lilienfeld Abbey and was leased by the municipality of Kaumberg for 99 years. From Kaumberg you can reach them in about 90 minutes. From the 27m high keep you can enjoy an unforgettable view. To the east you can see the gently sloping hills of the Vienna Woods, while to the south-west the foothills of the Alps stretch out with their rugged cliffs. The romantic Burgstüberl takes care of your physical well-being with regional delicacies, which you can enjoy on the unique panorama terrace when the weather is nice. Numerous events, such as the castle plays, concerts and the medieval Georgsfest offer special entertainment. At the heart of the castle is a very special historical museum, the Scenarium Araburg. Entry is free with the Nö-card, otherwise € 5. The view from the tower is great. There are some rooms that are "simulated" and provide information about life in the castle or training to become a knight.
