Commissioned by Stalin, Dr. Karl Renner spent twelve busy days at Eichbüchl Castle developing the basic structures of the Second Republic. At the same time, he prepared the formation of a provisional government, and as its Chancellor, he finally announced Austria's declaration of independence in Vienna on April 27, 1945.
