호달랜드‬에서 가장 멋진 ‪20‬개의 산 정상

Veten, at 486 meters, is the highest peak in Åsane and a favorite hiking destination on the northern tip of Bergen’s peninsula. The summit is marked by a large cairn and offers panoramic views of other Bergen mountains and the Nordhordland and Osterøy regions. Trails are well-marked and connect to historic routes like the old Trondhjemske Postvei, adding cultural interest to the hike. The walk provides outstanding 360° vistas, making it a rewarding spot for nature lovers and photographers alike.

The path was only (extended or) rebuilt a few years ago. Most of the path is over stone steps of varying heights. If you have knee problems, this path becomes torture. Apparently, it's a popular Sunday outing for Norwegians: a quick run up and down. For me, the path had nothing to do with hiking. It was simply climbing stairs.

At this point, you can show off your athleticism, as countless steps await you before you reach the top. You'll enjoy beautiful views of the mountains at every turn. There are also small coves with seating areas where you can relax. Once you reach the top, you'll receive a reward telling you how many steps you've climbed.

Anyone coming from Floyen and wanting to hike to Ulriken should take a look at the climb from here and consider their fitness. The next 3 kilometers are challenging and require a fair amount of climbing skill. It's a relentless climb.

Hauggjelsvarden is a lesser-known but worthwhile peak in the Bergen region. Once at the top, a tranquil spot awaits with sweeping views over green valleys, shimmering fjords, and the surrounding mountain ranges. The summit marker and the open landscape invite you to take a break and fully enjoy the Nordic nature. Those looking for a scenic hike away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist crowds will find it here.
