8 am on August 27, 2024, I was attacked near the Lora mountain hut twice by 2 Maremma dogs and a black wolfdog. They ran towards me barking and growling even though I was on a public path and not in the middle of meadows and there were no flocks or herds grazing (there were only a few sheep behind an electric fence near the mountain hut). No shepherds nearby. I had to back up, putting my bike between me and the dogs and preventing them from going around me (they tried). Luckily they didn't try to bite me, because even if I had anti-dog spray with me I wouldn't have had a good time anyway. I wonder why they don't train anti-wolf dogs to distinguish between a wolf and a human being and leave the latter alone. Defending flocks and herds from theft by criminals makes no sense in 2024 on a plateau of a few km2 where each animal is branded and registered.

Among the Bassano hills, the Silàn stream rises in the hamlet of Valrovina and descends along the valley of the same name, forming here a spectacular and unexpected waterfall with jutting out and natural pools of crystalline water. The waterfall ends in an enchanting clearing, in the middle of a lush forest with impressive centuries-old chestnut trees, with enormous and twisted trunks. 'Silàn' is a Cimbrian toponym that means 'place where water flows'.
