The tunnel just before Fjordgard was freezing cold in September and barely lit; in some places, water was dripping from the ceiling. It's 3.5 km long, so I was frozen to the bone by the time I reached the end. I knew better on the way back. You should wear a high-visibility vest and put on something warm before entering the tunnel. I put on my full rain gear for the return trip. It's not advisable to stop in the tunnel itself... or only in places where it's a bit wider, as quite a few cars and campers drive through (September 2025).

The toilets and showers were still closed at the beginning of September 2025 due to the beach renovations. I found information on the Ersfjorden website that everything should be ready for the next season, early summer 2026. I've heard that you can see the Northern Lights here.

Food, drinks, and accommodations A wonderful place to relax where you can buy homemade pastries or bread, create your own salad, and even enjoy a refreshing swim. The owner also rents out rooms!

The toilet and shower are currently (June 1, 2025) closed due to construction, but the forest above offers good opportunities to relieve yourself. Bring a shovel and remember to dig the hole beforehand.

A pretty little bridge in the hamlet of Sørfossbogen. Nothing here but a bus stop and this attractive bridge, but the view is delightful.

Beautiful view of the waterway that becomes Reisvatnet. It can be covered in snow most of the year, as the photo shows, but it's a beautiful view and cycling area when the snows melt.
