This is the Kelsterbach Canoe Club. Below is some information from the club. Our club is dedicated to promoting canoeing and kayaking for recreational and amateur athletes – entirely on a volunteer and non-profit basis. We do not offer canoe rentals or guided tours. However, anyone interested in canoeing is warmly invited to visit us during our training sessions and participate in a free introductory session. This is a great way to get to know our sport and our club without any obligation!

Hinkelstein Waterworks The Hinkelstein Waterworks began operations in 1894. In order to pump the groundwater, which is up to 15 meters deep, a more than two-kilometer-long tunnel had to be excavated. The listed domed structure of the historic structure has been preserved. Today, the maximum pumping capacity of 50,000 cubic meters per day is 2.8 times higher than it was then. The waterworks is equipped with powerful submersible motor pumps and a modern treatment plant. Among other things, it ensures the drinking water supply for Frankfurt Airport and is an important component of the regional Hessenwasser supply concept. Source: Information board at the site
